THE ANSWER IS BUTTERWORTH
The answer to the question is.....
its a Butterworth swing valve inlet 500.
Archie Butterworth raced cars and built engines in the 50's. This engine belongs to Miles, his nephew (who is a good friend of Paul, my friend) . His engins were usually 1500 or 2000cc but this was Archies test bed engine.
I Think that makes it pretty damn special.
THANKS TO PAUL FRO THE INFO AND PICTURES.
(you can sleep at night now Pete)

SATURDAY IS NOT SWEDISH CHOP DAY
I have had a mega hectic week starting with taking JACK THE BASTARD to the vets for an opperation he is now 'officially, the Grumpyest dog on the planet.
And ending with me cleaning and rebuilding (after the house fire it was black and stinking) our bed.
I made this bed for my wife about 4 years ago, for a woman that likes sleeping it was the best present she ever.
so im to knackerd to do SWEDISH SAT' so this week it will have to be SWEDISH SUN'.

'FORBIDDEN ONES' BIKE SHOW
It was the FORBIDDEN ONES bike show this weekend and even though it was raining (a bit) it was still a good turnout and a great day.
Pin-striping above was done by a real nice bloke called Simon Denton (i loved the saws)
Steves 'Bonkers' MATCHLESS' 500. (proud owner in the background)
Our very good Dutch and German friends made the journey from, well, Germany and Holland.
Cool 'Rat-rod'. sounded like HELL-ON-WHEELS
As i said "a good turn out".
I really dig this 'Maggot'.(cx 500)
Always good to see a Rat-bike.
This GSXR won best metric.
Rinould (bet i spelt that wrong) won a prise for his, Evo engine-streched shovel framed, Harley
KID from 'THE MAVERICS' won once again for being a star and riding his Trumpet to the moon and back.
PREDATORS member won best paint.. Very nice bike.
Bloody amazing Harley won best 'engineered' and best in show

MORE PISSING AROUND WITH MY SPORTSTER
Since ive had my sportster back on the road the front brake has been CRAP.
I hate bleeding brakes and i had to bleed that bastard a 1000 times.
It only just scraped through the MOT, as it was binding (sticking on, a bit).
I then bought a piston seal kit, stripped scraped, cleaned then rebuilt and the FUCKING thing was worse.
As it was a 4pot FZR calliper with a Harley master cylender, the simptoms (loads of leaver travel before anything happens) pointed to the fact that the Harley master-cylender wouldn't push enough fluid for the 4pot calliper.
So i decided to make the calliper fit the FZR forks.
I started with a ply template to get the holes in the right place.
Then transfered everything onto a 10mm aluminium ( aloominum if your American) plate. I had to drill all around the outer shape then cut with a fret saw, then file , then file, then file and finally file.
It fits and works a treat (took me 1.73 mins to bleed). when i have more time ill SNAZZ it up with some holes or something so that it looks a little more pleasing to the eye.
Then i had to make a SISSY bar and luggage rack as, Me and my bird and some Dutch people and some Swedish people are all riding to Croatia in two weeks...
