Incase you were wondering (Why would you ?), this is what i do for a living. I'm a timber framer and this week i been mostley getting 'pissed' wet on site.
Done with this job now so im guuna get drunk tonight with some friends from Holland and Germany and all the guys at THE FORBIDDEN ONES. i hope we dont get too wet there.
Yep. most of the oak is a bit overkill on size. but thats what the arcatects wanted. the steel is 16mm stainless bar. and the rafters are bolted to the posts via 10mm stainless plates. the steelwork made the whole job a pain in the ass. this is our company website (if you are intersested http://www.carpenteroak.com.
