Since ive had my sportster back on the road the front brake has been CRAP.
I hate bleeding brakes and i had to bleed that bastard a 1000 times.
It only just scraped through the MOT, as it was binding (sticking on, a bit).
I then bought a piston seal kit, stripped scraped, cleaned then rebuilt and the FUCKING thing was worse.
As it was a 4pot FZR calliper with a Harley master cylender, the simptoms (loads of leaver travel before anything happens) pointed to the fact that the Harley master-cylender wouldn't push enough fluid for the 4pot calliper.
So i decided to make the calliper fit the FZR forks.
I started with a ply template to get the holes in the right place.
Then transfered everything onto a 10mm aluminium ( aloominum if your American) plate. I had to drill all around the outer shape then cut with a fret saw, then file , then file, then file and finally file.
It fits and works a treat (took me 1.73 mins to bleed). when i have more time ill SNAZZ it up with some holes or something so that it looks a little more pleasing to the eye.
Then i had to make a SISSY bar and luggage rack as, Me and my bird and some Dutch people and some Swedish people are all riding to Croatia in two weeks...
